home sweet home

This project was part of professor Arnaud Bical’s studio. Situated in the historical centre of Rennes, the project was to replace a  residential complex demolished during the construction of a new metro line. Our goal was to design housing that would offer the same qualities as the suburbs. Each unit shifts a vernacular way to create a garden and a cellar. In order to establish each unit’s identity we used the vocabulary of the suburbs with its sloping roof and its garden fences. The project was realised with Timothée Souchard in a very small time and received critical acclaim.
