l'école fait son cirque
This final project was the conversion of a Nantes sugar refinery into a circus centre created with Anne-Heloïse Dautel. Beghin-Say sugar refinery has been a staple of the Nantes Skyline since 1935. The idea was to reinterpret and use this industrial building by dedicating it to the art of circus. Thus, one of the boxes is dedicated to welcoming circus troops during winter. It contains a vertical caravan inn, an internal performance space and a menagerie. The other box is devoted to a circus school offering training facilities for professionals as well as children’s lessons.
